Commitment to our consumers involved in the criminal justice system and a commitment to community safety is the focus of our forensic programming. Specialized programming for sexual offenders and perpetrators of domestic violence are offered with group counseling as the primary modality supplemented by individual sessions. Mid-Erie clinicians work closely with the staff of New York State Parole, Erie County Probation, Niagara County Probation, Drug Courts, Domestic Violence Courts, Mental Health Courts, and Erie County Forensic Mental Health with an emphasis on care coordination, communication, and community safety. In addition, mentally ill individuals who are involved in the Criminal Justice System are linked with our existing programming to address their psychiatric and rehabilitation needs.
For consumers who are mandated for sex offender treatment by NYS Parole, County or Federal Probation, we provide assessment, multi-phased group counseling, individual therapy, and psychiatric services. We incorporate defendantís behavioral and criminal history into our ongoing assessments and require a strict behavioral contract that includes ongoing coordination with the referral source. Drug testing and polygraph technology are interventions used in conjunction with verbal therapy and care coordination.
For consumers who are mandated by NYS Parole, County Probation or the Courts, we offer assessment and a 26 week group program for men and women. Referral sources must provide information about the defendantís behavior and crime. Our 1131 Broadway Clinic offers services for individuals who have felony level offenses.
Individuals with behavioral health problems are involved in the Criminal Justice System in a variety of ways including the Courts, Probation, and Parole. Mid-Erie provides individuals with our full array of clinical services to address their behavioral health needs, including:
