Family and Adolescent Treatment

Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA) and Assertive After Care (ACC) are behavioral interventions. The goal is to increase the family, social, and educational/vocational reinforcers of the teen to support recovery.


• 12 weeks
• Weekly individual sessions
• Weekly group sessions
• Drug testing

ACC includes home visits and case management for the teen after they complete the A-CRA program.


All the counselors at the Family and Adolescent Treatment Center have attended trainings and become certified in conducting the GAIN assessment, making clinical judgements, and tailoring treatment plans to meet the individual needs of the family and adolescent.


In addition, all the counselors have attended training on the intervention model. Each counselor must complete necessary requirements to become certified and use the treatment approach with the families and adolescents.

How Do We Begin Treatment?

A counselor will complete a Global Appraisal of Individual Needs (GAIN) with the teen. The GAIN provides a detailed history of:

• Substance Use
• Physical Health
• Risk Behaviors
• Mental and Emotional Health
• Legal Involvement
• Vocational
